ADULT FICTION SUSPENSE

In Hunter's Honor the influence of male role models is evident in the plot as good and evil battle for control. One side turns to God and family for help while the other turns to material comforts and diabolical schemes.

The story takes place in the fields and forests of Kentucky near the imaginary towns of Findlay and Cedarwood. A family has dreams of making a living off their land. They set out to build upon their heritage and invite others to share in their love of hunting. As with any life-long dream, there is no shortage of roadblocks but through perseverance, tenacity, and grit, they succeed. On the other side of the county, another family has plans to achieve wealth and power and will stop at nothing to get what they want.

Shiloh Lawson embraces her family’s hunting heritage by going into business with her uncle, Jete Lawson to build one of the best deer and turkey hunting operations in Helix County, Kentucky. The Lawson family has to contend with natural disasters, the neighboring Dugan clan, unusual clients and other problems that threaten to bring the entire venture to an end.

Through perseverance and faith, Lawson’s Hunting Adventures begins to prosper, while new problems are brewing on the opposite side of the county.

An uncle in another family has a more ominous relationship with his niece. Because of his influence, Becky Woodsen’s life is on a downward spiral fueled by lies, jealousy and sexual manipulation.

As Shiloh and Becky fall in love with the same man, a chain of sinister events is set in motion, with a deadly outcome no one predicted.

Adults who love hunting will enjoy Hunter's Honor.

Stan Potts discusses Hunting Dream Jobs

It’s timely for someone to be writing a book about this. It’s timely for someone to be considering the future of fish and wildlife jobs and fish and wildlife management. We have to learn and understand that, then maybe we can plan a strategy that can take us into the next generation and beyond. Brent Manning, retired director, IL Dept. of Natural Resources
